Not always the best hunting rifle. Low light is not easy with a scout scope. Still, all and all, a well set-up Scout rifle is very nice for a walkabout. http://www.gunsandammo.com/historical/carbine-compromise/ http://www.scoutrifle.org/index.php?topic=1322 http://eclecticbreakfast.blogspot.com/p/the-carbine-compromise-by-jeff-cooper.html http://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/the-scout-rifle-tbt http://www.scoutrifle.org/index.php?topic=1320.0 http://www.scoutrifle.org/index.php?topic=1321.0 http://eclecticbreakfast.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html
Cool. I have a Ruger gunsight scout with a leupold 4x scout scope on it. Very fast to aquire a target, but there are times I kinda wish I had a 3x9 on it for distance. Still, it's my favorite rifle.
