This fish and his brothers from Saturday were caught on the old standby Silver S-n-G with the green wings/green head tipped with Tuna 22' of water. Been messing around with depth and this seems to be the best producer so far.

Good job Trick!!!! Now I'm getting edgy, a friend showed up today and showed me a pic of his brand new 20' R&D (Duckworth sister company) boat & wants me to help put the first blood in it. How cool is that!!!!!
Look out springers, next Sunday a few of you slimers will meet yer maker!!!!

Oh my, you fish with tuna's???:eek::eek:o_O:D

Yeah, seems like a fair tradeoff converting some ghetto canned tuna into springer fillets......bad to the bone.

Good luck on your maiden voyage. Couple weeks and it'll be off the hook I'm hoping. Still not too bad now.

Not needing specific location unless you want to give it away but a thereabouts would be nice

We're lazy and stay close to home. We were fishing off of sauvies. I do better plunking for springers. We use a boat to fish the islands locally and downriver, but I prefer to let them swim to me.

Sometimes I troll, but for me it is more work than I care for and rarely anymore productive.

Not sure exactly where that is. Is that a tributary of Oregon off the Columbia

Sauvies island......it's the island that starts below Portland and ends downriver at St helens. The Columbia is on the ne side and the Willamette (Multnomah channel) lays to the se side. Just plunking off the shore on the Columbia side.

    Maybe Social Security beach.....

Never thought about where St. Helens was but now I know. I do most of my Big C trolling out of the Kalama river. I had a 16' Willie Preditor and we'd launch right in the Kalama just downriver of I-5 & motor right out into the Columbia and head to the North side of Sandy Island and troll downstream bangin bottom towards the old Nuke site or when it got deeper than 30', then motor back up and do it again.
But since I got 2' itis I now have an 18' windshield boat with a full top and will have to go to the upriver launch at the Port...

    Nice boat.
I wish I would have bought your old Willies boat.

Here it is and I sometimes kick myself in the arse for selling it but I can only afford one boat so it had to go. The guy I sold it to lets me fish out of it & he makes me captain every time!!!!
It is perfect for sneaking up on duck while steelhead fishing!!!!

Went out today and did not touch a fish......water is pretty dirty in my neck of the woods. The Willamette is spitting chocolate. The Columbia is clear enough to catch fish, but barely IMHO. Was going to try it tomorrow, but going to give it a couple days to settle some sediment out. Saturday will head out.

Water was maybe slightly better today, but no fish. Didn't get touched. Out from 7 till 1. At it again on Wednesday.
